Problem

How old is Jehoiachin?

2 Kings 24:8 - Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
2 Chronicles 36:9 - Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

"Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months." vs "Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem:"

How could Jehoiachin be both 8 and 18 years old when he began to reign?

When Jehoiachin was eight years old, his father made him co-regent, so that he could be trained in the responsibilities of leading a kingdom. Jehoiachin then became officially a king at the age of eighteen, upon his father's death. No contradiction.

2 Kings 24:8 Jehoiachin [was] eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he "reigned in Jerusalem" three months... Reigned is past tense meaning it could be talking about when he was eight. 2 Kings 24:12 And "Jehoiachin the king of Judah" went out to the king of Babylon... It says the king of Judah not Jerusalem so when it says he began to reign when he was eighteen it's talking about He beganto reign in Judah.
