Is Jesus Christ Equal with God the Father?

1 Corinthians 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
1 Cor. 11:3 says that the head of Christ is God but in 1 John 5:20 Jesus Christ was God...how can i reconcile 1 Cor. 11:3 to 1 John 5:20?
1 Cor. 11:3 is used by most of the religions who disapproved the Deity or the Equality of Christ to God the Father.
