Problem

How many feet does a grasshopper have?

Leviticus 11:21 - Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
Leviticus 11:22 - Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

The Bible says they have 4 legs - but don't they have 6?

Two options:

First, the clearest one, is that "creeping things" in the Bible also includes lizards and snakes, as the Bible classifies creatures differently than we do.

Secondly, God may classify two of insects' legs as hands instead of feet. We designate body parts based on form, but God may designate them based on function or some other criteria instead.
