    Michal doesn't bear any children herself, but she is apparently raising someone else's five sons (Adriel's children).

    I'm not exactly sure why Michal raised these kids, but perhaps Adriel died and Michal decided to adopt them. Even though I don't know why she is raising them, the point is that both statements are correct as written.

    If you read in 1 Samuel 18:19-20, Saul had 2 daughters, Merab, the older one and Michal, the younger one. It was Merab who was actually given to Adriel the Meholathite as wife, not Michal. So Michal did not have any children.
