Who Succeeded Josiah?
In 2 Chronicles 36 it says that Jehoahaz replaced Josiah, but in Jeremiah 22 it says that Shallum reigned instead of Josiah?

    2 Chronicles 36:1 Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.
    Jeremiah 22:11 For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:

    Actually the solution is quite simple. Men often were designated more than one name in the scripture. I Chronicles 3:5 names the 4 sons of Josiah. Shallum is clearly Jehoahaz just as Eliakim's name (another son of Josiah) was changed to Jehoiakim in II Kings 23:34. In the New Testament you have Simon called Peter (Matthew 4:18) and Saul called Paul (Acts 13:9), John surnamed Mark (Acts 12:25), etc. And most people I know have two names, commonly called "middle" names.
