Ignatius of Antioch

Church father · died c. 108

Bishop of Antioch, taken to Rome under guard and thrown to the beasts there in the reign of Trajan. On the way he wrote seven letters, to the Ephesians, Magnesians, Trallians, Romans, Philadelphians, and Smyrnaeans, and to Polycarp.
