What the Bible Says

  • “Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house” Acts 28:30

Each year here fits these numbers, as the years between the points they count from.

The Years

Began AD 63
“he remained in his own hired house two whole years”
Ended AD 65
“Paul preacheth the Gospel in the Isle of Crete”

Ussher has him set free after the two years (Philippians 1:25-26; Philemon 1:22), to preach in Crete (Titus 1:5), and taken again later (2 Timothy 1:8).

Dated by Archbishop James Ussher’s Annals of the World (1658), quoted as printed, whose dates were printed in the margins of King James Bibles for two centuries.
