Colossians 4 Scofield
Read Colossians 4 · Matthew Henry on Colossians 4
4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
“grace”
Grace (imparted). 2 Thess 1:12; Rom 6:1; 2 Pet 3:18.
4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
“Epaphras”
A touching illustration of priestly service, (See Scofield "1 Pet 2:9") as distinguished from ministry of gift. Shut up in prison, no longer able to preach, Epaphras was still, equally with all believers, a priest. No prison could keep him from the throne of grace, so he gave himself wholly to the priestly work of intercession.
“perfect”
(See Scofield "Matt 5:48").

4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
“mystery”
(See Scofield "Matt 13:11").
